Project presentation
The project aims to create dynamic opportunities for both teachers and students in Early Childhood Teacher Education (ECTE) by fostering “internationalization at home and abroad.” It focuses on building an innovative, sustainable structure that recognizes diverse backgrounds and enhances the inclusion of students’ cultural capital. The project involves creating two credit-bearing ECIU micro-modules with blended designs, combining virtual learning and short physical mobility. The courses will be co-created through collaboration, exploring themes of communication, democracy, and creativity in connection with Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) theory and practice.
The project emphasizes innovative teaching practices through international collaboration and intercultural encounters, promoting intercultural competence and cultural sensitivity. Cultural sensitivity is integrated both in teaching methods for teacher educators and as part of student learning for their future roles in early childhood education. Ultimately, the project addresses the priority of developing cultural sensitivity within qualitative education at various levels.
